British Empire Medal

Lynda Hesketh, Chair and founder member of Chester Adult Phab Club, a social club for people with and without disabilities was presented with The Order of the British Empire Medal by H M Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire Mr David Briggs at the Investiture held at the Town Hall, Chester on Tuesday 15 November 2016.

The award is in recognition for her services to Chester Adult Phab Club over 27 years and was granted to Lynda in the Birthday 2016 Honours List.

Lynda quoted ‘The investiture was a memorable day and I am delighted to receive such a prestigious accolade’, she also quotes – ‘Phab is an amazing charity enriching and transforming many lives’.

Lynda will also be invited to a Royal Garden Party next summer 2017.

Recipients are entitled to use the post-nominal letters ‘BEM’.

The honours system recognises people who have:

  • made achievements in public life
  • committed themselves to serving and helping Britain

They usually have made life better for other people or be outstanding at what they do.
